Add it in Claude
-
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
-
Click Add, then Custom, then Web.
On a Pro or Max plan the same choice can read + Add and then Add custom connector.
-
Name it Remindly. For the server URL, paste:
https://www.remindly.com/mcp
-
Click Continue. Under Authentication, choose Sign in now.
Under OAuth client, leave Use Claude's published identity. Register automatically works too.
-
Click Add. Sign in to Remindly if it asks, then click Allow.
The page names your Remindly account and says you'll be sent back to claude.ai.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector first, under Organization settings → Connectors. After that, each person opens Customize → Connectors and clicks Connect.
Add it in ChatGPT
-
In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins.
-
Click the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
-
Name it Remindly. Under Connection, paste https://www.remindly.com/mcp.
Choose OAuth when it asks how to sign in. Leave any client id blank.
-
Read the warning, check I understand and want to continue, and click Create as a plugin.
-
Sign in to Remindly and click Allow.
A ChatGPT workspace can turn custom servers off. If you don't see Add custom MCP server, the workspace hasn't allowed it.
Ask it something
In Claude, turn Remindly on for the chat from the connectors menu. In ChatGPT, type @ in the message box and choose Remindly.
Then ask in ordinary language. For example:
- “What did I save about the dentist?”
- “Add a note called Packing list, in the Travel notebook, tagged trip.”
- “Add ‘buy toothpaste’ to the end of Packing list.”
- “Make a notebook called Trips and move Packing list into it.”
- “Share Packing list and give me the link.”
- “Remind me about Packing list tomorrow at 9.”
- “Move my old Packing list to the Trash.”
It can search notes, read one as Markdown, create a note, change a note's title, text or tags, append a paragraph, list your notebooks and tags, make a notebook, move a note or a notebook into another notebook, share a note by link with anyone or only with people you name by email, stop sharing it, set or clear a reminder, move a note to the Trash or bring it back, and add an image or file to a note. For a screenshot you pasted into the chat, it gives you a link to a page where you drop or paste it; the link works for 30 minutes. A note it moves to the Trash is in the Trash in Remindly, where you can restore it; it never deletes a note permanently, can't delete a notebook, and can't put a password on a link. A locked note or notebook is skipped: Claude and ChatGPT can't read it.
Disconnect it
-
In Remindly on the web, open Settings, then Integrations.
-
Under Claude and ChatGPT, click Revoke next to that connection.
Claude or ChatGPT can no longer read or change your notes with it. Your notes stay. Connecting again asks you to Allow once more.
Good to know
- A connection is not a device. It doesn't use one of the sign-in spots on your plan.
- Each account can make 2,000 of these requests a day. The count resets at midnight UTC. A burst of more than 60 in a minute waits.
- What you allow is that one Remindly account: search, read, create, edit, append, organize, share, reminders, files, and the Trash. Not your password, and not other people's notes. Nothing it does deletes a note permanently.
- A note link it gives you, starting with remindly://note/, opens that note in Remindly on your Mac or iPhone.
- Claude's free plan can add one custom connector. Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise can add more.
If something's not right
- It says it couldn't reach the server. The address has to be exactly https://www.remindly.com/mcp, with the https and the /mcp at the end.
- The Allow page expired. Start Add again from Claude or ChatGPT. The request only lasts 15 minutes.
- It stopped working after a while. Open Settings → Integrations and see whether the connection is still listed. If you revoked it, add the connector again.
- It says you've used today's requests. It resets at midnight UTC. Reading a note and saving a note each count as one.
