Remindly vs Notion

Notion for the workspace.
Remindly for the thought.

Notion is built for docs, databases and teams. Remindly does a smaller job and keeps it fast: press ⌃⌥N in any app on your Mac or ask Siri on your iPhone, and the note is saved before you lose your place. Every note is stored on your device, so it opens instantly, even offline.

Native apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, plus a web app.

When the Wi-Fi drops, which notes can you open?

Notion

The pages you've marked Available offline on that device. Sub-pages aren't included, and a database keeps the first 50 rows of its first view.

Remindly

Every note, on your iPhone and your Mac. There's nothing to mark.

Notion's offline rules from notion.com/help, October 2026. Some paid Notion plans also keep recent and favorite pages.

Opens instantly

Notes are stored on your device, so opening one never waits on the network.

Capture from any app

⌃⌥N on your Mac, and Siri or a Lock Screen button on your iPhone.

Plain Markdown

Export every note as a .md file whenever you like. No lock-in.

Where each fits

Two tools, two different jobs

Remindly doesn't try to rebuild Notion's databases or team wikis. It's for the notes you take on your own, at the moment you need to take them.

Notion is built for

  • Docs and wikis your team edits together
  • Databases with views, filters and properties
  • Templates and project tracking
  • Notion AI across your workspace

Remindly is built for

  • The thought you'd lose while another app loads
  • Receipts, letters and whiteboards you scan with your iPhone, searchable by the text in them
  • Articles you clip from Safari, Chrome or Firefox
  • Meeting notes from Granola, filed in a Meetings notebook on their own
  • Notes you need on a plane or in a basement

FAQ

Questions people ask

Do I have to stop using Notion?
No. Remindly doesn't replace Notion's databases, wikis or team pages. If those work for you, keep them, and use Remindly for the notes you take on your own.
Can I import my Notion pages?
No. There's no Notion importer. Remindly imports Evernote .enex files, on the Mac.
Does Remindly work offline?
Yes, with nothing to set up. The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps keep every note on the device, so you can read, write and search offline. Your changes sync when you're back online.
Can I share notes or work with a team?
You can share a note, but not work on it together. Share a note from the iPhone, iPad or Mac app and anyone with the link can read it, until you stop sharing. There are no shared notebooks, comments or permissions.
Which devices does Remindly run on?
There are native apps for iPhone (iOS 18 or later), iPad (iPadOS 18 or later) and Mac (macOS 15 or later), plus a web app. On Windows, install the web app from Edge or Chrome: it opens in its own window, but it needs a connection, because your notes aren't stored on the PC. There's no Android app.
Can I get my notes out of Remindly later?
Yes. In the Mac app, File → Export All Notes as Markdown… writes every note as a .md file, one folder per notebook, with attachments alongside. The folder opens in Obsidian or any text editor.
