Remindly vs Raindrop

Raindrop saves the link.
Remindly saves the page.

Raindrop is a bookmark manager: links in collections, with previews. Remindly is a notes app that saves the article itself as a Markdown note, next to the rest of your notes. Search finds any word in it, on your device and offline. With Pro, the Web Clipper also keeps your browser's bookmarks bar in a notebook.

Native apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, a web app, and the Web Clipper for Chrome and Firefox.

You save an article. What can you search later?

Raindrop

The link, in a collection with a preview. Searching the page's full text, and keeping a permanent copy of it, are part of Raindrop Pro.

Remindly

The article's text, as a note in your notebook. Search finds any word in it, even offline.

Raindrop features from help.raindrop.io, October 2026.

The page, not just the link

An article becomes a Markdown note you can read and search.

Your bookmarks bar, in a notebook

Each link a note, each folder a tag, kept up to date by the Web Clipper. In Pro.

Plain Markdown

Export every note as a .md file whenever you like. No lock-in.

How it works

Save the page, then find it

The clip is an ordinary note. It's stored on your device, it syncs, and it exports with the rest.

  1. 1

    Clip the page

In Chrome or Firefox, click the Remindly Web Clipper or press ⌥⇧R, then pick Article, Selection or Link only. On iPhone, iPad or Mac, share from Safari.

  2. 2

    Keep your bookmarks bar

Turn on bookmarks bar sync in the Web Clipper and each link in the bar becomes a note, dated the day you bookmarked it. Folders become nested tags, renames follow, and a link you remove goes to the Trash. It's part of Pro.

  3. 3

    Find it later

In the Web Clipper, pick a notebook and add tags or a comment. Every clip keeps the page's address, and search finds any word in it. Claude or ChatGPT can search your notes too.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is Remindly a bookmark manager?
No. It's a notes app that saves web pages and can keep your bookmarks bar in a notebook. If you keep hundreds of links in shared, visual collections, Raindrop does that better.
How does bookmarks bar sync work?
In the Web Clipper for Chrome or Firefox, turn on bookmarks bar sync and pick a notebook. Each link in the bar becomes a note, dated the day you bookmarked it. Folders inside the bar become nested tags, so a link in Dev → AI is tagged Dev/AI. Renaming a bookmark renames its note, and removing one moves its note to the Trash. It runs one way, from the browser to Remindly, and it's part of Pro.
What does a clip save?
With Article, the Web Clipper saves the page's main text, cleaned up and converted to Markdown, along with the page's address. Selection saves only what you highlighted, and Link only saves the address. Sharing from Safari saves the article, with anything you highlighted quoted at the top.
Can I import my Raindrop bookmarks?
No. There's no Raindrop importer. Remindly imports Evernote .enex files, on the Mac, and bookmarks bar sync brings in the links in your browser's bookmarks bar.
Does Remindly have AI built in?
No. It works with the assistant you already use. Add the Remindly connector to Claude or ChatGPT, on any plan, Free included, and it can search your notes, read one as Markdown, add a note or append to one, and set a reminder. How to connect it.
Do my clips work offline?
Yes. A clip is a note, so the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps keep it on the device with your other notes. You can read and search it without a connection.
Which browsers does the Web Clipper work in?
Chrome and Firefox (Firefox 128 or later). In Safari, share the page to Remindly on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Can I get my notes out of Remindly later?
Yes. In the Mac app, File → Export All Notes as Markdown… writes every note as a .md file, one folder per notebook, with attachments alongside. The folder opens in Obsidian or any text editor.
