Privacy policy

Remindly is where you keep your notes, so this page says plainly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated October 29, 2026

The short version

  • Remindly is made by Thinksoft Solutions, LLC (“we”). This policy covers remindly.com, the Remindly apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the Remindly Web Clipper, and the Remindly connector for Claude and ChatGPT.
  • We keep your account details and the notes, reminders and files you put in Remindly, so they sync to your devices.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across sites. We count page views on remindly.com with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
  • We don't use your notes to train AI, and we don't send them to AI services. Text recognition in scans and photos happens on your device.
  • You can delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings at any time.

What we collect

Your account

  • Your email address, and your name if you give it.
  • If you use a password, a salted hash of it, never the password itself.
  • If you sign in with Apple or Google, the account ID and email address they share with us. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one.
  • If you sign in with an emailed code, a hash of the code, kept for 10 minutes.
  • For each device you sign in on, a hash of its access token, the device name it reports (for example “iPhone”), and when it was last used.
  • Settings such as your time zone and sidebar layout.

What you put in Remindly

  • Notes, notebooks, tags, reminders and web bookmarks, including the web address and page details of anything you save.
  • Attachments such as photos, scans and PDFs, plus the text the apps recognize in them on your device, so you can search it.
  • Emails you forward to your Email to Remindly address, which become notes. They keep the sender's name and address, the date and the attachments.

When you use the service

  • Our servers keep standard logs, such as IP addresses, request times, errors and the email address used to sign in, so we can run and secure the service.
  • On remindly.com, how many people view each page, counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics without cookies or anything that identifies you across sites. When you create an account, we also keep which page you first arrived on, the page that linked you there and any campaign tags in its address, so we know which pages and listings bring people to Remindly.

How we use it

  • To provide Remindly: store your notes, sync them to your devices, send the reminders you set, and fetch previews for links you save.
  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To send service emails: sign-in codes, codes for people viewing a note you've shared with them, and a daily reminder digest if you turn it on (it has an unsubscribe link). We don't send marketing email.
  • To answer you when you contact us, and to comply with the law.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Who else handles it

A few companies run parts of Remindly for us. They handle your data only to provide their service to us:

  • Google Cloud runs our servers, database and file storage in the United States.
  • Cloudflare runs our domain, receives email sent to your Email to Remindly address, sends our service emails, and counts page views on remindly.com.
  • Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google.

When you open remindly.com, your browser also loads fonts from Google Fonts and styles from the Tailwind CSS CDN. The sign-in page loads Apple's sign-in script, and icons for saved web pages can come from Google's favicon service. Those services see your IP address, as with any website.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect Remindly and its users. If Remindly is sold or merged, your information would move to the new owner under this policy.

Things you connect

These only run if you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.

Google Calendar

Remindly asks for read-only access to your calendar, to list your meetings and create a note for one when you ask. Events are read when you look at them and aren't stored, except what you add to a note: the title, time, location, meeting link, description and up to 25 attendees' names and email addresses. We store the access Google gives us and the name, email address and picture of the Google account you connect. Disconnecting removes that access at Google and deletes it from Remindly.

Remindly's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Granola

If you connect Granola, Remindly copies each meeting's title, time, link, participants, Granola's summary and your own notes into a note. It doesn't copy transcripts. We store the access Granola gives us so we can keep syncing.

Web Clipper

The browser extension reads a page only when you click it to save that page. Bookmarks bar sync is optional and off until you turn it on: while it's on, the extension sends the names, web addresses and folder names of the bookmarks in your bookmarks bar to Remindly, so each link becomes a note, and turning it off stops that. It keeps your sign-in and notebook list in the browser's extension storage.

Claude and ChatGPT

If you add Remindly as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, you sign in to Remindly and allow that assistant to use your account. Its tools can search your notes, read a note as Markdown (with its title, notebook, tags and reminder), create a note, add a paragraph to the end of a note, list your notebooks and tags, and set or clear a reminder. They can't delete anything. A connection is an OAuth grant, not a device: it's listed in Settings → Integrations, where you can revoke it at any time. Each account can make 2,000 tool calls a day.

We don't see or keep your conversation with the assistant. We receive only the tool calls it makes, such as the words it searches for or the text of a note it saves, and they're handled like any other request to Remindly. Locked notes are stored encrypted with a passphrase we never have, so the connector can't read them. What the assistant does with the notes it reads is covered by its maker's privacy policy, not this one.

Notes you share

When you share a note by link, anyone with the link can read it, unless you limit it to certain email addresses or a password. Viewers you limit it to get a code by email. You can set the link to expire, or stop sharing at any time. Shared pages ask search engines not to index them.

Cookies and storage

The website uses one cookie to keep you signed in (for a day, or 30 days if you choose “Keep me signed in”), another to remember that you've unlocked a protected shared note, and, until you have an account, one that holds only the page you arrived on, the page that linked you there and any campaign tags in its address, for 30 days, so we know which pages bring people to Remindly. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't track visitors across sites. Your browser also stores your preferences, such as light or dark mode, and the web app can keep its own files and a copy of your notes in your browser so it loads quickly and works offline. We don't use advertising cookies.

The apps keep your notes and attachments on your device so they work offline, and your sign-in in the system keychain. Signing out removes them from the device.

Keeping and deleting

  • We keep your account and notes until you delete them or your account.
  • Notes you delete go to the Trash. Emptying the Trash deletes them for good.
  • Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account, in the apps or on the web) permanently deletes your account, notes, notebooks, attachments, reminders, connected accounts and devices. It also revokes Remindly's access through Sign in with Apple, Google Calendar and Granola. You can also email us to delete your account.
  • Copies can remain in backups and server logs for a limited time before they're overwritten.

Your choices

  • See and export: everything is in your account, and the Mac app exports all your notes as Markdown files.
  • Correct: edit your notes and profile at any time.
  • Delete: delete notes, empty the Trash, or delete your whole account, as above.
  • Disconnect: turn off Google Calendar, Granola or bookmarks bar sync, or revoke a Claude or ChatGPT connection, in Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your personal information, such as to get a copy of it or object to how it's used. Email us and we'll help, whatever your location.

Security

Remindly uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords, sign-in codes, device tokens and the tokens behind Claude and ChatGPT connections are stored only as hashes, and the access Google Calendar and Granola give us is stored encrypted. Our cloud provider also encrypts stored data. App Lock in the apps can require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to open Remindly. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affected your information, we'd tell you as the law requires.

Children and changes

Remindly isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the apps or by email before it applies.
