The short version
- Remindly is made by Thinksoft Solutions, LLC. By creating an account or using Remindly, you agree to these terms.
- Your notes are yours. We only use them to run the service for you, and you can export them all as Markdown at any time.
- Pro is sold on the web and renews until you cancel. Cancel any time; it runs to the end of what you've paid for. Yearly charges are refunded in full if you ask within 14 days. Monthly charges aren't refunded.
- Connecting Claude or ChatGPT gives that assistant the permission you grant on your account, and you can revoke it from Settings.
- Locked notes are encrypted with a passphrase only you know. If you forget it, nobody can recover those notes, including us.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings at any time.
Who we are
Remindly is provided by Thinksoft Solutions, LLC (“we”, “us”), a Minnesota company at 7251 Maple Grove Rd, Cloquet, Minnesota 55720, United States. These terms cover remindly.com, the Remindly apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the Remindly Web Clipper for Chrome and Firefox, and the Remindly connector for Claude and ChatGPT (together, “Remindly”). Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why, and is part of these terms.
Your account
- You need an account to use Remindly. Give us a working email address, since that's how you sign in and how we reach you.
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age where you can agree to terms like these where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.
- One person, one account. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us at hello@remindly.com if you think someone else has used it.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what the Web Clipper, an assistant you've connected, or anyone with your Email to Remindly address adds to it.
Acceptable use
Use Remindly for keeping your own notes, and keep it lawful. In particular, don't:
- Store or share content that's illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that harms others, such as malware, harassment or content that exploits children.
- Use share links, Email to Remindly, the connector or the API to send spam, run scams, or distribute content you don't have the right to.
- Probe, overload or interfere with the service, try to get past its limits or security, or use someone else's account.
- Resell Remindly, or use it to build a competing service by copying it.
If an account breaks these rules, we may remove the content, stop a share link, or suspend or close the account. We'll tell you when we do, unless the law stops us.
Your content
- Everything you put in Remindly stays yours. We claim no ownership of your notes, notebooks, tags, reminders, attachments, or anything you clip or forward.
- So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store your content, sync it to your devices, make it searchable, send the reminders you set, show it to the people you share it with, and hand it to an assistant you've connected. That's all. We don't sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI.
- Notes are stored as Markdown. The Mac app exports every note as Markdown files, so you can leave with all of it at any time. The export guide shows how.
- You're responsible for your content, and for having the right to store and share it. Pages you clip and emails you forward stay subject to their owners' rights.
- When you share a note by link, anyone with the link can read it, unless you limit it. You can stop sharing at any time.
Plans and Pro
Remindly has a Free plan and a Pro plan. Notes and notebooks are unlimited on both; the plans differ in how many devices can be signed in, how much attachment storage you have, and locked notes. The current prices and limits are on the pricing page.
Buying Pro
- Pro is sold on the web, from Settings → Plan, and billed by Stripe. It isn't sold inside the apps, and the apps don't take payments.
- Pro is a subscription, yearly or monthly, and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We email you before a yearly renewal.
- Prices are in US dollars. If a price changes, it applies at your next renewal, and we'll tell you before then. Taxes are added where the law requires.
Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel from Settings at any time. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to Free.
- Yearly charges, the first one or a renewal, are refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of the charge. Reply to your receipt or email us.
- Monthly charges aren't refunded. Cancelling stops the next one.
- Moving from Pro to Free deletes nothing. Your notes and attachments stay readable and exportable, and devices already signed in keep working. New uploads are refused while you're over Free's storage, and a new sign-in is refused while you're over Free's device count.
Early access
While Remindly is in early access, every account is on Pro for free. Before that ends, we'll tell you in the apps or by email, and nothing will be charged unless you choose to buy Pro.
The apps and the Web Clipper
- The apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac come from the App Store, and Apple's terms apply to downloading them. We license them to you, for your own use, under these terms. Don't copy, modify or reverse engineer them beyond what the law allows.
- The Web Clipper saves a page to your notes when you click it, and only then. If you turn on bookmarks bar sync, it keeps your bookmarks bar in a notebook until you turn it off. It's licensed to you under these terms, like the apps.
- What you clip or sync becomes your content, and the rules above apply to it.
Claude and ChatGPT
You can add Remindly as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT. When you do:
- You're granting that assistant permission to act on your account, as you. The permission lets it search and read your notes, create notes, add to the end of a note, list your notebooks and tags, and set or clear reminders. It can't delete notes.
- What the assistant does with your notes once it has read them is between you and its maker, under their terms and privacy policy. We don't control Claude or ChatGPT, and we're not responsible for what they do or say.
- Each connection is listed in Settings → Integrations, where you can revoke it at any time. Revoking stops that assistant's access at once.
- Each account can make 2,000 connector requests a day. We may change that limit to keep the service running well for everyone.
Locked notes
Pro lets you lock a note or a notebook with a passphrase. The passphrase stays on your devices and is never sent to us, so our servers hold only encrypted text they can't read. That means search, share links, reminders' titles and connected assistants can't see a locked note either. If you forget your passphrase, your locked notes can't be unlocked by anyone, including us. There is no reset. Keep the passphrase somewhere safe.
Ending your account
By you
Delete your account from Settings → Delete Account, in the apps or on the web, or email us. Deleting it permanently removes your account, notes, notebooks, attachments, reminders, connected accounts and devices, and ends any Pro subscription at once without a refund. If you're within the yearly refund window, ask for the refund before you delete. Export your notes first if you want to keep them.
By us
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we're required by law to close, or whose payment has failed and can't be recovered. If we ever shut Remindly down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and time to export your notes.
Changes to Remindly
We add, change and sometimes remove features. If we remove something you rely on, we'll try to give you notice and a way to keep your data. Remindly may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
Disclaimers and liability
Remindly is provided as is. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that a reminder will always arrive on time. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Keep an export of anything you can't afford to lose.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of Remindly. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
You agree to cover us for claims by others that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that we can't resolve together will be brought in the state or federal courts in Minnesota, and you agree to their jurisdiction. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Remindly.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the apps or by email before it applies. Using Remindly after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you don't, you can export your notes and delete your account.
